The House on Lookout Mountain - Patchwork Mysteries - Book 14
Sarah is intrigued when her friend Neil Lawton asks her to help him sort through the contents of a mysterious house he’s just purchased on Lookout Mountain. Sarah’s daughter-in-law Maggie—an antiques expert—and friends Irene and Chester—both history buffs—are invited as well. When the party arrives, they discover that the house is fully furnished; in fact, it looks as if the owners just disappeared into thin air sometime around World War II! Sarah and her friends search the house for clues about what happened to the family, although she is particularly intrigued by a chest of old quilts that was left behind. But as they search for answers, antiques start to go missing. The culprit must be one of their own, but who would steal these antiques, and why? What does the thief know about the history of the house? And why is Neil so eager to find out what really happened all those years ago on Lookout Mountain?

The House on Lookout Mountain– Book 14

Author: Camy Tang

When Sarah agrees to help Neil sort through various items in a house he recently purchased, she discovers that this may be the most profound mystery that she has ever encountered! With the items in question neatly organized throughout the house, it seems as though the building was simply abandoned in the 1940s and forgotten ever since. With only a few clues regarding the identity of the original owners, Sarah realizes that many of the items in the home are mysteriously disappearing! With the only viable suspects being Neil, Chester, Maggie, or Irene—all of whom appear unlikely to be thieves—Sarah must work quickly to figure out the mystery of Neil's new house and uncover the culprit behind the disappearing antiques. Will Sarah's investigation lead to answers, or is the mystery, like the house itself, destined to remain in the past for good?

I've enjoyed all the books in the Patchwork series but this one has to be the best by far. Sarah meets Neil and a few other friends at an abandoned house, high up on Lookout Mountain for the purpose of evaluating the contents thinking some might be antiques. What Sarah wonders is what made the family just simply disappear leaving everything behind. She, Maggie, Irene, and Chester start searching the house for clues to the family's identity. When a violent storm nearly strands them on the mountain, suspense climbs. Sarah and her friends wonder if the family could have been Nazi spies as most of the items found were from either Germany or France with dates ending in 1941. This book really kept my interest.
